What is the difference between engineering polypropylene fiber and polyester fiber
Polypropylene fiber and polyester fiber are both synthetic fibers and belong to the category of engineering fibers, but they are very different in practical applications.
First, the two materials are different. The former is made of isotactic polypropylene and the latter is made of polyester.
Second, the temperature resistance is different. The maximum temperature resistance of PP fiber is 176 degrees, while polyester fiber can reach 225 degrees.
Third, the physical and chemical properties are different. Polypropylene fibers have good alkali resistance, and polyester fibers play a better role in acidic environments.
Fourth, the fiber types of the two are very different. Usually polypropylene fibers include monofilaments, plastic steel fibers, mesh fibers, and bundle fibers, while polyester fibers are mainly monofilament fibers;
Fifth, the types of projects used by the two have their own emphasis. Polypropylene fibers are mainly used in alkaline environments such as cement concrete and mortar insulation projects. Polyester fibers are mostly used in the pavement and repair works of asphalt concrete pavements.
