Asphalt fibers mainly include polyacrylonitrile fibers, polyester fibers, aramid fiber and lignin fibers. These fibers play a role in crack resistance, adsorption, dispersion, and improving the high and low temperature stability of asphalt in asphalt.

Specific types and their characteristics

Polyacrylonitrile fiber: has high strength and chemical corrosion resistance, and is often used to enhance the stability and durability of asphalt.
Polyester fiber: has good wear resistance and anti-aging properties, and can improve the crack resistance of asphalt.
Hybrid Aramid fiber:  has high strength and hig modulus ,high thermal resistance and can improve the durability of ashpalt pavement.
Lignin fiber: divided into flocculent and granular forms, can increase the adhesion and crack resistance of asphalt, and is often used to improve the high and low temperature stability of asphalt.

Application areas

Asphalt fibers are widely used in construction and industry. In the construction industry, they are used for waterproofing of roofs and walls to prevent moisture penetration and protect building structures. In the industrial field, especially the chemical and sewage treatment industries, asphalt fiberboard is used as a corrosion-resistant material for lining tanks and pipelines to extend the service life of equipment.
