Types of concrete reinforcement fibers

Concrete reinforcement fibers have a long history ,but for industrial development ,it can be trace back to 1960s. From rock wood fiber to glass fiber, steel fiber ,synthetic fiber, and carbon fiber, including the new basalt fibers ,etc . With the development of the market and the deepening research, concrete reinforcement fibers has been continuously expanded and improved .So what are the types of concrete anti-crack fibers ?

1. steel fiber

Steel fiber is a kind of traditional engineering fiber with a long history and wide use. However, it has the advantages of high density, high use and great wear to equipment, so its disadvantages cannot be compared with synthetic fiber.

2. Polypropylene fiber
polypropylene fiber is a general designation of polypropylene synthetic fiber. The products are divided into many types. For details, please refer to what kinds and specifications of polypropylene fiber are used in concrete engineering

3. Polyacrylonitrile fiber

The fiber is a kind of synthetic fiber with a fineness of 11-13 microns. It has small fineness, high strength and high temperature resistance. It has good application value in cement concrete engineering and asphalt concrete engineering.

4. Polyvinyl alcohol fiber

Because the production cost of PVA fiber is relatively lower than that of polyacrylonitrile fiber, and the performance of substitute asbestos mixed into cement products is basically the same, so it has been recognized and used internationally soon. High strength and high modulus polyvinyl alcohol fiber is used as reinforced fiber in cement products for construction, such as: making Leng shaped tile, roof color tile, decorative wall panel, indoor and outdoor light wall panel, floor, floor tile, indoor ceiling, large caliber sewer pipe, water pipe and joint, etc.

5. Glass fiber

There are many kinds of glass fiber, usually alkali resistant glass fiber and non alkali glass fiber. The price of alkali resistance is expensive, the price of non alkali is cheap, but it is not corrosion resistant.

6. Basalt fiber

As a kind of inorganic fiber with high strength and high modulus, basalt fiber is a research hotspot in the new century. It can not only replace glass fiber, but also has lower production cost than carbon fiber.

7. Polyester

Polyester fiber is mainly used in asphalt concrete engineering, which is a good material to replace lignin fiber.

8. Polyamide fiber

In recent years, due to the development of polypropylene fiber, polyamide fiber is gradually replaced.
