Polypropylene fiber and Application

Polypropylene fiber is a kind of PP material, which is usually heated by PP particles to the molten state, then put the molten PP material and screw rod into the spinning machine together, and push it out from the spinning machine into the three-way drawing machine, the three-way setting machine, the winding machine, the second setting machine and the fiber shaping machine, and then cut by the cutting machine to get polypropylene fiber.
Polypropylene fiber and application
Polypropylene fiber is light in weight and good in corrosion resistance. It is widely used in textiles, building materials and insulation materials. We must all know that polypropylene fiber is used in textiles. For example, the clothes we are wearing such as mountaineering suits and down jackets are all made of polypropylene.

Why do clothing products tend to be made of polypropylene fiber?

The main reason is that polypropylene fiber has five advantages: first, polypropylene fiber is light, and its quality is better than that of cotton;

Second, the moisture absorption of polypropylene fiber is 0;

Thirdly, polypropylene fiber has higher wear resistance and strength;

Fourthly, polypropylene fiber has good corrosion resistance, weak acid and alkali resistance; As mentioned above, polypropylene fiber can also be used as building materials. For example, adding polypropylene fiber into concrete can enhance the fracture strength and impact resistance of concrete, and prolong the service life of concrete. Generally, 0.9kg fiber should be added into every cubic meter of concrete, 1.5-2.5kg fiber should be added to a ton of cement, and the fiber should be added to the dry cement, and then water should be added for mixing. The mixing time is about 30-60 seconds longer than that of the cement without fiber. The abrasion resistance and strength of the concrete made in this way are obviously improved. Of course, polypropylene fiber can also be used in gypsum to enhance the wear resistance and air permeability of gypsum. Polypropylene fiber can also be used in batteries, so what is its working principle? What is its function? In the battery, polypropylene fiber is often used as a separator, because of its excellent heat preservation, alkali resistance, wear resistance and oxidation resistance, it just meets the needs of the battery and can ensure the normal operation of the storage mechanism. The single-layer PP separator is a film extruded from PP particles by tape casting process, while the thick PP film is made by adding nucleation modifier into PP particles and forming microporous film by biaxial stretching. At present, these two kinds of separators are widely used in batteries. In the later stage, with the development of new energy vehicles, the use of separators will also increase correspondingly, and the downstream demand of polypropylene fiber will also increase gradually.
