When burned, PLA fiber does not emit toxic gases and does not cause pollution, making it a sustainable ecological fiber. Polylactic acid fibers have good biocompatibility and bioabsorbability, as well as antibacterial and flame retardant properties. Among biodegradable thermoplastic polymer materials, PLA has the best heat resistance.
