Polylactic acid fiber (PLA fiber) is a biodegradable synthetic fiber that is broken down into carbon dioxide and water through microbial action in soil or seawater. When burned, PLA fiber does not emit toxic gases and does not cause pollution, making it a sustainable ecological fiber. Polylactic acid fibers have good biocompatibility and bioabsorbability, as well as antibacterial and flame retardant properties. Among biodegradable thermoplastic polymer materials, PLA has the best heat resistance.
